Australia/New Zealand - RCM
Introduction
The Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM) is a trade mark owned by the electrical regulator (Regulatory Authorities (RAs)) and Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA).
The RCM is a symbol that represents compliance with two independent schemes:
- EESS; and
- ACMA's labelling requirements.
For electrical safety, in-scope electrical equipment must not be sold unless the item is marked with the RCM in compliance with AS/NZS 4417.1 & 2 and the EESS.

Australia/New Zealand - Energy Rating Label
Intruction:
The Equipment Energy Efficiency (E3) Program is an initiative of the Australian Government, states and territories and the New Zealand Government to improve the energy efficiency of appliances and equipment.
The purpose of the E3 Program is to deliver a single, integrated approach to energy efficiency standards and labelling. Standards specify the minimum level of energy performance that appliances must meet before they can be sold. Labelling provides energy efficiency information to support consumers to make informed purchasing decisions.
Products that must display an Energy Rating Label include air conditioners, clothes washers, dryers, dishwashers, monitors, televisions, household fridges and freezers, and pool pumps. Some products don't need to display the label, but have other labelling requirements. .

New Zealand R-NZ
Introduction:
New Zealand’s product compliance framework helps manage the risk of interference to the radio spectrum. As a supplier, it’s important that you make sure your products meet the standards set out in the framework.
The key components of the framework are:
- evidence of conformity with prescribed standards
- a Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity (SDoC)
- product labelling with the RCM compliance mark or New Zealand radio label (R-NZ).
Mark:
For radiocommunications and EMC products where the level of conformity is 1, 2 or 3, you need to use the RCM.
When the product is a radio transmitter in a class where the level of conformity is A1, A2 or A3, you need to use the R-NZ compliance mark, not the RCM. The R-NZ is a New Zealand-only radio label for radio products not harmonised with Australia.
